Founder of Florida Media Strategies LLC, a strategic public relations and communications firm serving a diverse group of national and statewide clients. In a past life, I was a Pulitzer Prize finalist, newspaper reporter, editor, and political columnist. Today, I help clients create ways to tell their stories and engage constituencies in the marketplace of ideas and commerce. One client's needs might be met through publication of a quarterly magazine while another's might be as simple as a news conference or as complex as the creation and execution of a comprehensive social media strategy. Strategic communications today can utilize an almost dizzying array of media tools, technology and outreach techniques. The essential thing is to know which to use and when.

Hass Twitters Digital / Social Media ... More

http://twitter.com/markhass

Don't want to miss catching those brief, juicy news items on Web about that the ways corporations, individuals and not-for-profits are using social networking media and digital technology? Want interesting takes on public relations and communications issues you can use in your own company or organization?

Check out the above twitter by my old friend and former newspaper colleague, Mark Hass.

Hass was until recently worldwide CEO for MS&L, following the acquisition of his own public relations firm, Hass Associates in 2002 by Publicis Groupe.

Mark is one smart fellow and has been on the leading edge of this stuff for years.

"The impact of digital media on corporate communications has fascinated me for years and was the basis of my original 1996 PR start-up," he wrote in a recent post to friends about a new book he's completing. "The industry has made a lot of progress in the years since, but few firms have mastered the delicate balance between excellent traditional corporate communications and the sophisticated use of digital media, especially how those relate to the way companies connect to larger community and global issues."

Tasty tweets sampler a la Mark:
